OTTAWA AGREEMENT
THE CUSTOMS RESOLUTIONS PROTRACTED DEBATE EXPECTED. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, October 12. The extent of the concessions which the Dominion has made to Great Britain under the terms of the Ottawa agreement will be revealed in the House to-morrow evening, when New Zealand’s delegate to the Imperial Economic Conference (Mr Jy G. Coates) will make a public statement on proposed Customs amendments and the necessary resolutions will he introduced and passed. ■ * * The resolutions ajee expected to cause a hot debate among members, aud it seems unlikely that the House will rise until’ long after the usual hour of 11.30 p.mi There will, however, lie some limit to the discussion .since the resolutions must be agreed to before the opening of the Customs at 8 o’clock on Friday morning. Cabinet sat to-day. to consider the final draft of the resolutions, and " the Comptroller of Customs (Dr: G. Craig) wag present during the deliberations.
