BOTTLE RACES “ CATCJH ON.” “ Dropping the bottle ” Ts the latest in entertaining competitions during the evening cruises now in fnlU'mVing on the Clyde. Novelties as additional attractions on these cruises arc continually being devised,- and the bottle race has “ caught on.” For the “ bottle race ” one purchases a ticket, and in return one’s name and address arc written- on a card, together with the necessary instructions, and the card placed inside the bottle. , When the steamer is at a certain point all the bottles sold for the competition are dropped overboard. : • • Then it- is merely a case of waiting until someone,"somewhere, picks up one of the Mittles, ajid, acting upon the instructions'■inside,'returns it to the adr dress given. There is a prize for the possessor of the first bottle returned within a month of it being dropped overboard.
