SALE OF TOBACCO USFAIR %> COMPETITION f MOVE TO CONTROL TRICE. , (Pek United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, October 12. At a conference of representatives of the tobacco trade of the Dominion held to-day it w&s agreed to join with ,the Associated Chambers o,f Commerce in a deputation to the Government to-morrow, asking that the Board of Trade Act, the Cost of Living Act, and the Commercial Trust Act should be repealed. By preventing the manufacturer from controlling the price, these Acts, it was said, Jed to a number of large firms using tobacco as a decoy for other business. A petition has been sent to Parliament asking that* if the Commercial ,Trust Act could not be repealed, it should be amended permitting the price of tobacco to the consumer to be controlled.
