FORESTERS

The fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room, Dowling street, last Tuesday, Acting C.R. ,8r0._6. Wright presiding, and all officers being l present. Sick reports were dealt with, and invitations were received -from Court Marion, Mosgiel, for October 11 and Court Robin Hood, Port Chalmers, for October 18. It was decided that the court should be represented at both functions. The Foresters picnic delegates’ report was received. A letter of recommendation was granted to a brother to allow him to visit other courts. The P.C.R.’s evening wras left in the handsof the Social Committee to arrange. During the last fortnight a very old and esteemed member in the person of Bro. Gibb had passed away, so that the court was in mourning. The C.R. also asked the members to stand in silence as a mai’k of respect to the late brother. Official visits were received from Courts St. Andrew and- Woodland’s Pride. One new candidate was initiated into the Order. P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer taking the second part and the S.C.R. (Bro. S. Johnson) welcomed the new brother with the Foresters’ Toast. One proposition was received for next court night. After the close of the meeting the visitors were admitted and •welcomed by P.C.R. Bro. G. Currie, who had the programme in _ hand. A dance was held, to music supplied by Bro. Hargreaves. The , following contributed to the programme:-—Violin and piano. Miss Ngaio Garland and Mr A. Pettit; song, P.C.R. Bro.
