MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

A return match was held between members of the Dunedin Gun Club and Speight’s Miniature Rifle Club, at the latter’s range, on Monday evening, and resulted as follows; —Speight’s Club 593 points (previous match 581), Gun Club, 400 poirtts (previous match 435). The highest scorer for the Dunedin Gun Club was G. R. M'Kenzie with 72, and J. Weatherston and A. Dippie each tallied. 78 for Speight’s Club. At the supper adjournment, Mr T. Long, on behalf of the Dunedin Gun Club, voiced the club’s appreciation of reciprocity in the sporting rivalry of “ traps ” versus “ targets,” and in responding on behalf of Speight’s Club Mr R. C. Grcenslade congratulated the gun men on their improved score. Mr H. Davis also extended thanks on behalf of the Rifle Club for an engraved gold medal presented by Mr Long.
