' ANDERSON’S BAY CLUB The Anderson’s Bay Bowling Club held its fifteenth annual meeting last evening, tbe president (Mr W- Bennett) presiding over an attendance of 44 members. » In moving the adoption of the- report and balance ' sheet the president commented on tbe satisfactory state of the club’s finances. The surplus for the year was £44 4s 4d, which, together with £47 0s lid carried forward from last year, put the 'dub' in a sound position. The active membership was 71, with an increase of 12 during the year. The clubdid, not occupy a prominent place in the Saturday competitions, but 12 rinks were fielded and the members were well satisfied. The thanks of the club were due to the selectors, green supervisors, and the greonkeeper for their unfailing efforts in the interests of the club.
Two nominations for directors were received, and Messrs R, H. Ledlie and G. Henderson were elected unopposed. Mr A. Walker was re-elected auditor. The following' office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr Alexander Robertson; vice-president, Mr, G. Henderson; secretary, Mr J. Mooney; assistant secretary,. Mr R. Daglish: selectors —Messrs F. J; Campbell, R- H. Ledlie, and A. Robertson; green supervisors— Messrs J. Ussher, F. J.' Campbell, and A. Robertson; delegates to centre, Messrs J. J. Read and J. Mooney. The president presented the trophies to to following winners of last year’s club ties as follows:—Senior Champion, J. J. Read; Junior Champion, F. Thomson; Handicap Singles, J. Ussher; Handicap Doubles, S. Gould and J. Marshall; rinks —W. Bennet, E. Friedlander, R. Daglish, and J. Mooney. It was decided to enter four sections in the Saturday competitions and to enter for the Four-rink Championship and Adess Shield. „ , , The annual subscription was fixed at the same as last year, but the subscription for beginners joining was fixed at 30s. Correspondence from the centre was received, and it was decided to instruct the delegates to support the North-East Valley remit for more Saturday matches, and also to support the remit that a separate Saturday be set aside for special interclub matches. It was resolved _to oppose the remit relating to the rink tournament at New Year. It was also decided that the club should not enter for the Hope Shield Wednesday Competition. . , . . The meeting closed with a special vote of thanks to the ladies for their assistance to the club during the year, and to the retiring office-bearers and the secretary.
