THE POST OFFICE SITE

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — I see that the stagnant water has been nearly all removed from the Post Office site. I think that the old, unsightly fence should be removed and a better one erected. The present fence is simply a disgrace to the city. What about the Dunedin Beautifying Society trying to have the site filled with earth and make a beauty spot with flowers and trees in the very centre of our city? Owing to the shortage of money, the Government may not be in a position to build a new post office for a number of years. Past Governments have been too extravagant. We reap what we sow. If the Beautifying Society will do something in the matter it will earn the thanks of the citizens. — I am, etc., Osman.
