A GIRL RESCUED
DIES ON WAY TO HOSPITAL.

In the belief that; it was impossible that there were any more survivors, artillery was used to shell and demolish the dangerous tottering walls in the landslide area. They were surprised later by a cat’s frantic scratching. They dug at the spot and found the cat’s owner, an eight-year-old girl, unconscious beneath a bed, where she had been imprisoned for three days. She died on the way to the hospital.
