MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

On Monday evening last a team from H.M.S, Laburnum, met a team from the Returned Soldiers’ Miniature Rifle Club and fired a friendly shoot at the Drill Hall range. Notwithstanding the fact that the sailors were using .303 rifles with the Morris tube, and firing with open sights, they put up the very creditable score of 406 for the eight men. The Returned Soldiers responded with 596. After the shoot the club captain (Mr J. Judson) thanked the men from the ship for their ittcndance, and expressed the hope that further matches might be arranged. Gunner Tolliday replied on behalf of the ship’s party.
