RAILWAY LINESMAN KILLED (Per United Press Association.) WAIHI, March 21. Henry Fennel, aged 40, a linesman, on his way to work on a jigger, was overtaken by a passenger train from Paeroa to Waihi and killed. There was heavy rain at the time, and it is presumed that Fennel (who leaves a wife and child) did not hear the train approaching.

MOTOR CYCLE FATALITY PROCEEDINGS AT INQUEST. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 21. Complete loss of memory regarding a motor cycle collision at Inglewood recently when Norman Cedric Drake was killed was claimed by the two riders of the other machine concerned, Clement Watson and James Belski, at the inquest today. All three parties were admitted to hospital with head injuries. Drake dying almost immediately and the other two remaining in hospital over a month. Little light on the circumstances of the collision was gained at the inquest, and the coroner returned an open verdict. FARMER FATALLY INJURED

J. B, Reilly, a well-known Motupipi farmer, and a member of various local Bodies, died from injuries received when kicked by a horse. He was 30 years of ago.

WATERSIDE WORKER INJURED

Whilst stowing wool on a vessel at Port Chalmers yesterday morning Alfred Slierlow, a waterside worker, was injured by a hale of wool slipping on him. He vas removed to the cottage hospital for treatment, but his injuries were found not to be of a serious nature.
