UNIVERSITY BOAT RACE

CAMBRIDGE’S EASY WIN MARGIN OF FIVE LENGTHS (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, March 19. (Received March 20, at 8 p.m.) Cambridge won the University boat race by five lengths in IDmin Usee. Cambridge equalled Oxford’s record of nine successive wins. The sunshine brought thousands to the Thames, many having their breakfast on the towpaths. Oxford’s only chance of an equal congest vanished when they lost the toss. Cambridge selected the Surrey station, obtaining an advantage. Rowing with wonderful rhythm, they lost the struggling Oxonians before they passed Hammersmith, and without effort they increased their lead at every stroke. Oxford spurted valiantly but hopelessly at Chiswick ami finished exhausted, while Cambridge sat smiling and erect in their boat.
