SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE

SPECIAL RAILWAY TOURS COUNTRY EXCURSIONS ARRANGED / Among the many inducements offered to visitors to Sydney to prolong their visit on the occasion of the official opening of the Harbour Bridge on March 19 is a scries of train . tours of the country districts, known as the Reso tours, conducted by the New South Wales Government Railways. Lying behind the City of Sydney is a tract of territory covering nearly 310,000 square miles, from which the primary production annually is valued at over £4OO per head of those engaged in it, and approximately £4O per head of the entire population of the whole State. This territory is served by nearly 6000 miles of Government railways, which enable the rural population to carry out, its vast enterprises, and which therefore carry the life blood of Sydney itself. An opportunity is thus afforded the visitor of seeing something of the areas which comprise the Mother State of the Commonwealth. These tours must necessarily be limited to a few days, but the itineraries have been carefully arranged so that as much as possible will be seen in the time. The Federal capital city, wheat-growing lands, sheep and cattle stations, dairy farms, orchards, coalfields, and a variety of primary industries from the cane fields of the north coast to the irrigated areas of the Murrumbidgee basin, as well as a number of tourist resorts, are included in the programme. Each tour will be personally conducted and excursionists will be afforded opportunities of meeting the leading industrialists in the districts visited. Altogether there are' four district tours, the first covering southern and western districts of New South Wales, the second Federal capital territory and Murrumbidgee area, the third the North Coast district, and the fourth the Upper Hunter, Tamworth, and Brisbane Water districts.
