ROWING

The Otago Rowing Association’s regatta, to be held at Port Chalmers to-morrow, should prove one of the most successful to date. Seventy-eight entries have been received, as against 63 for the last regatta. Twelve events constitute the programme, and the first race is timed for 1.30 p.m. The Port Chalmers Band, which was much appreciated at the Port Chalmers regatta last month, has offered its services for the afternoon. On Monday evening at 7 o’clock the Trial Eightoar Race will be held over a course of two miles. After seeing the event the selectors will pick the crew to represent Otago in the Championship Eights to be held at Picton on March 26.
