(Fkom Our Own Correspondent.) CLYDE, February 23. , The annual meeting of the Clyde Town Trust was held last Monday evening at the Town Hall, and was presided over by Cr S. A. Stevens, A comprehensive report of the trust’s activities was read, the final portion dealing with the proposed new constitution under which the election of this body might be upon an extended franchise. The chairman, in commending the report in general, dealt in more detail with the section on the constitution, and stated- that its fruition rested upon a conference between the new trust and the Vincent County Council and a mutual agreement embodying the new proposals. He also submitted an audited statement of accounts showing expenditure at £236 2s Id, receipts totalling £143 2s 2d, and debit balance carried forward of £O2 10s lid. Attention was drawn to the fact that hall rents had shown an improvement, and the debit had been reduced from £ll6 10s 8d to £O2 10s lid. Mr John Smart commended the trust members for their work and also
congratulated them upon the_ improved position financially. The meeting unanimously endorsed the proposals in regard to the new constitution, and requested the incoming trust to conclude an agreement with the Vincent County Council. A vote of thanks was accorded the past members for their services to the community during the past year. The election of the new trust resulted as -follows —Messrs S. A. Stevens, F. R. Bould, C. J. Hanning. W. M. Lopdell, T, Aitken, L. 6. Naylor, and the Rev. A. B. Pywell. At a subsequent meeting of the trust all the officers were re-elected. It was decided to obtain drawings and specifications for new doors between the library and supper room 'and make an extra charge of. 5s when the former' was used for any purpose.
