PORT CHALMERS REGATTA

Very satisfactory entries have been received for the Port Chalmers regatta on Saturday afternoon. Fifty crews have entered for the various rowing races, and the competition is likely to bo keen and interesting. The.motor entries, which total 28, include speed boats, which usually contribute the element of excitement that makes such races intriguing. The entries for yacht races and 14-footer events have come to hand so freely that the committee feels confident that tliis section will bo very attractive. A band will play on the George street wharf. On one side of the wharf the rowing races will finish, and the motor finishes will take place on the other side of the wharf. The first race is timed to start at 2 p.m. An interesting afternoon’s outing seems to be assured.
