THE PILSUDSKI REGIME
LEADERS OF OPPOSITION PENALTY PAID FOR PLOTTING. WARSAW, January 13. Heavy sentences were passed on the leaders of the Opposition, who were arrested during the general election in 1930 for plotting against the Pilsudski regime. Vincent Witos, the Populist leader, who has been Premier of Poland three times, was sentenced to 18 months; Hermann Liebermann, the Socialist leader, to two and a-half years; and five others to two and three years. The trial lasted for two months, and the results caused consternation in political circles.
