WORLD DISARMAMENT
THE GENEVA CONFERENCE POSTPONEMENT OPPOSED. . WASHINGTON, September 2. (Received Sept. 3, at 8 p.m.) The Acting-secretary of State (Mr Castle) expressed opposition to the movement attributed to France to postpone the general Disarmament Conference at Geneva, which is scheduled for next February. He said that the American Government would strongly express its views on the matter, as it felt that a' reduction of expenditures on armaments at this time was one of the most important questions before the world and-post-ponement of the conference would have a bad psychological effect on the peoples, who had been led to believe that Something substantial would be done at Geneva.
