ANDERSON’S BAY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Anderson’s Bay Lawn Tennis Chib was held on Tuesday night in the local Bowling Club's pavilion, the president Mr F. J. Campbell) presiding over a large attendance of members. Mr Campbell, in moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, congratulated the A Grade team on its marked success in last year’s club matches, and stressed the need for in : creased team work in all three grades during the coming season. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—President, Mr Arthur M'Adam; vice-presidents—Dr Dunlop, Messrs J. C. EC. Somerville, A. Harris, J. T. Wilson. J. Wheeler, C. J. Adams, H. Renfree, J. Black, A. G. Neill, W. M'Lennan, J. B. Shacklock; secretary, Mr J. A. Pearce; treasurer, Miss J. Hill; committee —Mesdames Dyke and Shepherd, Miss E. Read, Messrs W. J. Dyas, J. Arthur, .* Hamer; auditor, Mr H. S, Ross; club captain, Mr R. Shepherd; delegates to 0.L.T.A.. Messrs J. A. Pearce and A. Hamer. Owing to the club’s courts being renewed and re-formed at the present time, the opening day was not fixed, but left in the hands of the committee to decide. Mr H. S. Ross eulogised Mr Campbell s years of service to the club and the valuable work he had performed in the interests of its members. A hearty vote of thanks was carried on his behalf In his reply, Mr Campbell stated that while his aim had been for years past to help secure for the club its own freehold courts, the decision of the members to raise a mortgage on the property for the purpose of ground improvements was not in accord with his views, yet he was sure that the club would continue to prosper, and he hoped that the coming season would be a successful one from every viewpoint.
