(From;: Our Own ’ Correspondent. ) BALCLUTHA, September 3. i Mr GormacL presided over a fair at-, tendance of. members at the monthly meet-, ing- of the Balclutha School Committee last night. The headmaster (Mr W'.; O’Connor) reported that the average attendance for August was 333 out of a roll number of 357, and the average attendance for the term was 331. The school would reopen on September 8. The Education Board notified that the committee, had not claimed a subsidy. on the full coal expenditure last year, and the board; would, therefore, allow the balance over' of the £24 (i.e., £2l 7s 3d) to be carried: forward to this year’s subsidy claim,which would allow a subsidy of £3O 16s’ 3d to be claimed.
