STRANDED NEAR NOUMEA
STEAMER LA PEROUSE NO IMMEDIATE DANGER. SYDNEY, June 18. (Received June 18, at 7 p.m.) The island steamer La Perouse is reported to.be stranded on a reef near Noumea, but she is in no immediate danger. There are 40 Sydney passengers on board. It is expected that the vessel will float off at high tide.
