James (Masterton) president, Mr H, B. Stuckey (Dannevirke) and Mr J. T. K. Mitchell (Auckland) vice-presi-dents, Mr M. A. It was decided that once an entry is made and printed in the catalogue no substitution of another animal could be permitted. A remit was carried defining a hogget for show purposes as a sheep Dorn after July 1 till December 31 of the following year. It was agreed that an exhibitor holding a purebred animal under lease be recognised as the owner for the time being for show purposes. A remit recommending the non-publica-tion of the judges’ names prior to the closing of the entries was lost. A lengthy discussion took place in committee on the question of the licensing of side show men. Police Commissioner W. G. Wohlmann was present. The following remit was carried: —“ That in view of the strongly-expressed by associations for police control of side show men, the Government be urged to pass legislation for the purpose of licensing them under police control." • It was decided to standardise the fat cattle classes so that the entries could compete at each show without being regrouped, thus enabling exhibitors to show with the least trouble. It was agreed that two-tooth sheep should be eligible for all sheep championships at all shows held after December. The Meat Board is to be asked to give consideration to the promotion of a competition amongst A. and P. associations throughout New Zealand for frozen lambs to be staged in London.
