' INDUCTION OF VICABL The induction of the Rev. C. W. Fore man, late of Naseby, as vicar of this parish, was conducted by Bishop Richards yesterday, there being present, a large number of parishioners and residents, in the evening a welcome- social, presided over by Mr P. W. Inder, was tendered to Mr and Mrs Foreman and their daughter. St. John’s Hall being comfortably filled. Words of welcome Were ’offered to the new vicar and his family by Messrs Arthur Heckler F. W. Inder, W. Lawless, and B. Hallett, members of the Anglican Church. The Rev. Mr Thomas, pastor of the Methodist Church, -also welcomed Mr Foreman, and expressed the hope that the cordial relations hitherto existing! among the minister of the Church in Waikouaiti would be continued and augmented. During the evening an entertaining programme was presented, consisting of; —Pianoforte duet, -Misses’ Sandford and Park; vocal duet, Mrd Grubb and Miss Mudge; songs— Misses Laing, White, Kerr, Mudge and Inder; piano solo, Mies Pat. de. Lautour; song, the Rev. Mr Foreman; recitation, Miss Inder; humorous dialogue, Mrs Grubb and Miss Mudge; recitation, the Rev. Mr Thomas. A vote of thanks was passed to.i Miss Inder for her work in arranging the musical programme.
