SALE OF PAINTINGS

The sale of pictures held on Wednesday by Messrs Park, Reynolds, .Ltd. was, considering the time, very satisfactory, and out of a catalogue of. 113 pieces between CO and 70 found buyers. The principal sales wore “ Evening,' Ayrshire,” by Blythe Fletcher, £11; “The Favourite Model,” by J. Lawson Balfour, £ll 10s; “On the French Coast,” by Leo Jaugny, £lO. Classical landscape, by Richard Wilson, R.A., one of the foundation members of the Royal Academy in 1768, was also disposed of. Other works brought from £3 to £6, and a collection of 172 antique engravings, mezzotints and etchings bound in two volumes, £2O. The black and white etchings and coloured etchings were sold at from £1 to £4.
