NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. LIST OF ENTRIES. (Per United Press Association.), WELLINGTON, February 22. The entries for the New Zealand championship rowing regatta, which closed yesterday, promise yery keen competition in the main events. All the present titleholders will again be competing. The draw for positions resulted as follows, the first-mentioned having the inside position:—Champion Pairs —Wairau, Star, Avon, Hamilton; Champion Singles —Waitemata No.' 2, Pieton, Wanganui, Waitemata No. 1, Tauranga, Auckland; Champion Fours—Hamilton, Aramoho, Avon, Pieton, Petone, Union (Wanganui), Star; Champion Doubles—Union (Wanganui), Wairau, Canterbury, Tauranga, Star, Waitemata, Avon. It will be noticed that Union (Wanganui) is not competing in the Singles this year. Jackson, who represented the club for the last few seasons, and who held the title three years ago, is competing in the fours and doubles. " I INTERCLUB-EIGHT RACE. The Interclub-Eight Oar Race will be continued this evening, when Port Chalmers will meet Queen’s Drive at 6.45 p.m., and the winner will meet Otago shortly afterwards. At the conclusion, the selectors will meet to pick the eight to represent Otago for the championship eight of New Zealand, to be rowed at Dunedin on March 21.
