CONSPIRACY IN PERU
OVERTHROW OF GOVERNMENT. TROOPS SURROUND LEADERS. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LIMA (Peru), February 20. An attempt to overthrow the Government of President Cerro early this morning failed. The conspirators fled to Callao, where they were surrounded by troops. SIXTY PEOPLE KILLED. LIMA, February 20. (Received Feb. 22, at 9 p.m.) Approximately CO persons were killed in to-day’s abortive revolt, 40 of them being loyalists and 20 rebels.
