EAST' ISLINGTON CONTEST. SEAT RETAINED BY LABOUR, (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 20. (Received Feb. 20, at 6.5 p.m.). The East Islington by-election, which was occasioned by Dt - Ethel Bentham’s death, resulted as follows: Mrs L. Manning (Lab.) .. 10,591 brigadier-general A. C. Critchley (Empire Crusade and United Empire Party) 8,314 Miss Thelma Cazalet (Con.) 7,182 Major H. E. Crawford (Lib.) 4,450 At the -general election the voting was as follows:—Dr Bentham (Lab.), 15,199; Major R. I. Tasker (Con.), 13,641; E, C. Middleton (Lab.), 11,136.
