UNEMPLOYMENT SCHEME No. 5.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As regards the unemployment levy, is it not correct that a man who does not get in his two days a week under the unemployment scheme which has just come in can demand the sustenance? I, for instance, unfortunately have to take the supposed two days a week. I have received only two days, which were on the Bth and 9th of this month, and now I start on Friday, 20th, from 12.45 to' 4.45, then I get a half-day Saturday. So, •when it is all summed up, I get only one day in every 11 days. The remainder of my two days ends on Monday, the 23rd inst., which also means I shall miss another full week before I can* get in a day’s work. —I am, etc., Fair Play.
