Mr J. E. Starkey, exchange clerk the Port Chalmers Post Office, has been transferred to the Mosgiel Post Office. His position has been filled by Mr J. E. Sanderson, of the Ravensbourne postal staff. Mr D. Macpherapn, manager of the, Port ' Chalmers gasworks, returned ye»terday from a holiday visit to Southland. Mr and Mrs J. T. Gilbert, of Grey street, have returned from a motor trip to the West Coast; It was reported yesterday that the condition of Captain T. Basire showed a slight improvement. Captain Basire has been confined to his home for several Weeks.
