CONDITIONS IN CANADA
SIGNS OF IMPROVEMENT. ADDRESS BY PRIME MINISTER. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) OTTAWA, January 22. Addressing a delegation of the National Council of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce today, the Prime Minister (Mr R. B. Bennett) said that Canada had maturities of more than a billion dollars to meet by 1934. No country had greater obligations in relation to the size of the population, and It. must not be forgotten that there uas the probability of a deficit of 100,000,000 dollars this year. “We know that conditions will improve. In fact, there are indications of improvement now. Psychological conditions are becoming better.”
