PAVLOVA’S ENVY
DON BRADMAN’S FEET. LONDON, November ID. “To my dearest mother and father,” is Don Bradman’s dedication of his book on cricket. The title of the book, published by Hutchin’sons, is “Don Bradman’s Book. The story of my cricketing life, with hints on batting, bowling, and fielding.” The old English captain, P. F. Warner, in an introduction to the book, refers to Bradman’s feet as “small and beautifully neat Pavlova might have envied themj* Warner denies that Bradman’s eschewing of the high drive is a weakness in his play, Bradman could play any stroke on which he eared to concentrate. He predicts that Bradman will play an innings of 600 or 700, and will put the aggregates and centuries of Grace and Hobbs in the shade.
