THE MEAT DISPUTE
DISTURBANCE AT ABERDEEN. STONES THROWN AT BUTCHERS. ATTEMPT TO WRECK BARRACKS. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) SIDNEY, December 1. An attempt to wreck the barracks occupied by the master butchers at Aberdeen, who are killing stock for the Sydney trade, was made by about 30 men. They maintained a fusillade of missiles nntil they were scattered by the police, who fired over the heads of the attackers. Large quantities of blue metal were hurled through the doorways and windows of the barracks, where there were 54 butchers. SYDNEY, December L (Received Dec. 1, at 9 p.m.) A conference of the parties to the meat dispute agreed to refer the strike isjiaea once again to an industrial commission, over which Mr Justice Piddington will preside, in the hope of reaching a settlement.
