COMMISSIONER’S RIGHTS,
. SYDNEY, December 1. (Received Dec. I, at 10 p.m.) Ansmg out of the recent application by the Railway Commissioners in the Eastern States for the right to vary employees’ awards in order to institute emergency schemes and retrenchment, cue High Court was asked by the unions and the Federal Government to decide the question whether the State railway authorities could be made parties to Federal awards.
The court to-day decided in the affirtnative.
