QUESTIONABLE ADVERTISEMENTS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib,; —The thanks of all parents are due to Professor Lawson, for his timely comments on the objectionable pictures which habitually grace (or, should I say, disgrace?) a hoarding in close proximity to a city school. I am no prude, but, should pleasure of business take me; in company with my. youngsters, past‘these pictures I would certainly ■ become much interested in anything at all oh the clean _ side of the street. Personally, I am little concerned with what pictures are shown in the theatres, " though I should be pleased to think that the large numbers who patronise them are not attracted by the startling and lurid posters which apparently are so popular with the "movie” interests. But with Professor Lawson I do most emphatically object to these insinuating monstrosities being thrust before the eyes of our children all day long, and I heartily trust that our city fathers will ere long bestir themselves and prohibit the exhibition of these unwholesome things outside the theatres.—l am, etc., ; Disgusted.
