GERMAN HORSES “ DUMPED.”

HUNDREDS IN ENGLAND, An altogether new kind of “dumping" to the financial detriment of British farmmg, !s taking place in Yorkshire. Hundreds of German-bred heavy horses have been, and still are being, landed i n Hull, -they come from farms in Germany where norse-power has been superseded by trac-tor-power. The introduction of the horses has called forth many complaints from East Yorkshire farmers, who for about 150 years have been raising several types of plough horses for heavy and light soils and for street work. These German horses are being sold at prices well under the values of Englishbred horses. A few are going into agricultural work, but the majority are being bought for street work in the large towns and cities of Yorkshire. Tlmv are H>ns robbing the English farm-producer of his best market.
