MOTOR CAR OVERTURNS.

DRIVER KILLED OUTRIGHT, MAN AND BOY DIE IN HOSPITAL. (Pee United Feeds Association.) TE AWAMUTU, December 1. A motoring fatality on Saturday evening resulted in the instantaneous death of the driver and the subsequent death of two others in hospital. The car was travelling towards Arapuni. When about a mile beyond Kihikihi the driver swerved to pass a vehicle standing on the roadside, and apparently lost control, going very wide and then turning sharply back to the road again. Not recovering, the vehicle ran up the side of a slight embankment and overturned, finally coming to a standstill some distance along the road and facing the opposite way on to its final direction. The driver and six occupants (all Maoris) were thrown out. The driver, Tommy Williams, aged 30, was killed instantly. Kenny Williams, aged six, received serious injuries, and Henry Warren, aged 46, died this morning in the hospital. Huia Edwards, aged 38, is suffering from severe concussion. The others were injured, but after treatment by a doctor were removed to their homes. The car was considerably damaged. An inquest was opened yesterday, when a Maori witness deposed that he had spent the afternoon with • the deceased driver. They had been in hotels, but he considered the driver wae sober. One of the occupants of the car said they had drinks at the Kihikihi Hotel a few minutes before the accident. He thought the pace was fast, and just before the accident he heard one of the passengers in the back seat complain about the speed. He personally was frightened at the speed of the car. The inquest was adjourned. A later message states that Henry Warren died in the Waikato Hospital early this morning, and Kenny Williams, aged six years, the third victim, died in the Waikato Hospital late this afternoon.
