CONTROL OF CYCLING.
STATUS OF NEW ZEALAND UNION. (Peb United Peess Association.) AUCKLAND, December 1. Confirmation ot the recently cabled advice regarding cycling control in New Zealand was received by letter to-day through Sir J. C. Stewart, former secretary of the New Zealand Union .of Cyclists. The English rendering of M. Paul Rousseau’s letter to the New Zealand Union of Cyclists is as follows: “I have the honour to inform you, as you will see by the enclosed copy of the minutes of our fifty-second congress, that your organisation has been admitted to the Union Cyoliste Internationale to control amateur cycling sport in New Zealand. Further, you will notice that, if you desire, your organisation should apply formally, and to us direct, to govern professional cycling.” The minutes, in addition, mention correspondence from the Australian Federal Cycling Council (professional) asking for the New Zealand Union of Cyclists to be given control.
