The New Zealand Trotting Association to-night granted the application of the Auckland- Trotting Club to reduce the stakes for the current year. There was some opposition to the proposal. I'm the club it was stated that the expenses had been heavy, and it was anticipated that the year might prove a bad one. Mr R. A. Armstrong (Wellington), in supporting the application, said that unless his club was allowed four, one-day meetings it would have to apply for permission to reduce the stakes.
