OTAGO YACHT CLUB. meeting of the new committee of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club was held on Thursday evening, the siding° doro (Mr C ‘ W.-Sundstrum) preThe secretary reported that he had communicated with the North End Boating Club soliciting its help i n forming a working bee to put the road to the boat harbour in order. The club had replied, stating that it was quite agreeable to assist.—The Yacht Club captain (Mr L. Lynn) was instructed to make the necessary arrangements. ' A letter was received from the Otago Tacht and Motor Boat Association setting out the new rule adopted by the Takapuna Boating Club (Auckland) for Cornwell Cup contests. . * Four new members were elected. The caretaker of the boat harbour having resigned, the commodore eaid it would be necessary to appoint another man to the position.—After discussing the.question. it was decided to advertise for a suitable man with nautical experience for th6' position. The question of opening day was considered, and a combined opening was favoured. Messrs J. T. Paul and P. Drummond were appointed delegates to deal with the matter. It was decided to include in the season’s syllabus the same number of races as last year. The classification of motor boats with the idea of securing better racing was left for the Syllabus Committee to report on. It was decided to print a number of honorary members’ cards. The commodore, in appealing for increased membership, stated that an effort 1 , should be made to obtain, more members, and that he was willing to give a valuable prize to the member who secured the greatest number for . the season.—The commo■dore’e offer was accepted with thanks, and it was decided that. only financial nominations would count, and that the secretary would be the sole judge. The following ■ committees were appointed for the season;—Slip—Messrs L. Lynn, R. Cahill, A. Knewstubb, and H. E. Dawson; Sailing—Messrs H. W. Hazelwood, R. Cahill, W. Henderson, J. Angell. J Smail, and H. Knewstubb; Syllabus—Messrs L. Lynn, F. Goodwin, and P. Drummond; Social —Messrs G. Geddes, L, Lynn, R. Cahill, D. Bishop, R. J. Paul,' N. Doig, H. Knewstubb, J. Carty, H. Russell, and P. Drummond. Handicappers (yacht)—Messrs J. Angell, J. Smaill; handioappers (motor boats) — Messrs P. Drummond. A, Knewstubb and W. Henderson. ' _______
