CONDITION IN THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times.) _ AUCKLAND, October 1, . Improved weather conditions prevailed in Auckland to-day, the wind having moderated to a fresh breeze from the south-south-west. Except for t few showers, in the morning, the day was fine. The barometer is rising steadily, and now registers 29.80 m. WELLINGTON, October 1. Tne heavy southerly blow died down this morning, and the weather took a decided turn for the better. Although the wind still retained its keen cd"e, the sun. shone brightly for the greater part of the day. The night is fine but cold CHRISTCHURCH, October 1. . After being showery in the early mommg, the weather cleared, and there was sunshine for the greater part of the day, tempered by a cold breeze from the southwest.
