A MOTOR FATALITY.
’ CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. VERDICT FOR £IOOO. (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON, May 0. In the Supreme Court to-day, following a four hours’ retirement, the jury awarded Ada Messenger {Palmerston North), widow, £IOOO damages in a claim against Hildas Emanuel Burgersen, Palmerston North, a locksmith. The claim arose out of an accident in July, 1929, when the plaintiff’s husband was killed in a collision with Bergenson’s car. ° The jury found that the defendant was negligent in not keeping a proper lookout and giving way to the deceased, who was approaching from the right. At a previous hearing in February the jury disagreed, and a retrial was ordered.
