JEWISH APPRECIATION. At tile, last meeting of the New Zealand Women’s Zionist Society (Wellington Centre) Sir Truby King was presented with an' illuminated certificate testifying to the inscription of his name in the Golden Book of the Jewish people. • It-was-Stated that the presentation was recognition of the Jewish women of New of the valuable assistance Sir Truby King had contributed to the cause of infant welfare work in Palestine. . , The inscription of a name in the Goldeu Book is the highest honour that the Jewish people can bestow, for it is tllG JfiWlsll Koll of Honour, and in it are perpetuated the names of, those who have been ox service to mankind and to the Jewish people. The name of Sir Truby King will take its place with the natnee of his Majesty the King, Earl Balfour, Genera] Allenby, and other great friends of the Jewish nation. Sir Truby, in reply, expressed his gratification at the honour which had been, bestowed upon him. He paid a tribute to the valuable support that had been rendered to the 1 Plunket movement right ’ from its early days _by the late Mrs Theomin and Mrs L. Harris, .of Dilnedin. Mrs David Nathan, of Auckland, and other prominent Jewish people. “The Jews of this Dominion,” he said, “Sad set a wonderI'd example in their practical support of the infant welfare movement.”
