DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. (Per United Press Association.) n W - HA SXIXCrS. May 8. JJugald jM Kenzie. aged 52, a; married man, with several children, a- cooper by trade, was found lying , dead last night his motor shed at his residence, lie left the house at 7, and’not returning, the family found the bpdy as stated. Heart failure was the cause of death, and e.n inquest is unnecessary. i : ; LEVEL CROSSING MISHAP. (Special to Daily Times.) • r ~ MATAURA, May 7. ■A level crossing smash .occurred.at the Albion street railway • crossing this morning, resulting in the destruction of a Chevrolet motor lorry and ■ serious injuries to the two' occupants, 1 Messrs William Given and Robert Kilpatrick, both the sons of farmers residing at Charlton. Given was taking the milk to the Mataura. Dairy Factory and ;hia 'van* was' hit on the crossing by. a mixed goods train from Invercargill. The lorry was struck at the forewheel and was carried over the cattle-stop, the cab being torn off. Given, who was thrown against a signal post, received a cut on the-back of the head, was .badly bruised about the. arms, and has injuries to his hack. Kilpatrick was thrown clear - and- was able to Walk about afterwards,, although: he had suffered. A severe cut on the back of, the head. Botb men were attended to by. Dr Woodhouse .(Mataura), and were afterwards removed m the ambulance to the Gore Hospital. Shortly afterwards another mishap was nar rowdy •’averted. A number of lorries and dairy carts had collected ■ about the scene of the accident, arid the view w'as somewhat blocked. : A' lorry belonging to, the New. Zealand- Express Company passed over the crossing just ahead of the limited expirees to Invercargill. The crossing is a bad one because of so much traffic to 1 the dairy. factory every morning, and also because the view from the west side of the - line is obstructed by a hedge and a coal-loading bank.
