Britten) of ■the House Naval Committee announced to-day that he would introduce a Bill for naval war craft construction costing 1,000,000,000 dollars, which, be said, was necessary to bring the American Navy on a parity with that of Britain in ten years’ time. He said he had confidential figures showing that the now construction requirements for the ten years called for 73,500 tons of 6in cruisers, 150,000 tons of destroyers, 52,700 tons of submajiues, and 00,000 tons of aircraft carriers.
