NEW BRITISH CRUISER
THE YORK COMMISSIONED. THREE YEARS TO BUILD. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copy.-lght.) LONDON, May 6. (Received May 7, at 0.15 a.m.) The first of the 8400-ton class ol cruiser, the York, has been commissioned and she will join, the Second Cruiser Squadron at Scapa Flow. It took thrcf years to build her at Palmers worlds. Jarrow-on-Tyne, and she cost approximately £1,800,000. On her trials she showed a speed of 32J knots, developing 80,000 horse-power.
