NEWBERRY, WALKER, LTD.

company claims to be tbe pioneer makers of permanent portable boilers in Dunedin, having commenced operations here 23 years ago. Extending operations, with the advent of wooden bedsteads, they put on the market a bed joint which is considered by cabinetmakers a standard bedfitting. Other lines added to the list of manufactures -from time to time are. poultry. grit mills, camp ovens, cast frypans, girdles, gem irons, etc. In the present day, as the wide use of gas and electricity for cooking purposes has decreased the demand for the coal range, the firm manufactures hot-water boilers of both open fire and closed type, to meet the necessity of providing an adequate , supply of hot water for household use. In 1926 a further extension of operations resulted in tbe making of warm air furnaces for the central heating system. Some of these plants, besides the ordinary service of heating the building, are fitted. with cooling and air-filtering apparatus, thus ensuring a healthy, comfortable atmosphere in the theatre at all seasons.
