CHARLES BILLS, LTD., WIREWORKERS.
The old-established firm of Charles Bills, Ltd. (Mr Charles Bills and Mr Herbert Rowley), possesses one of the most thriving businesses in the city. Mr Charles Bills, sen., started the concern in 1880‘in George street, and carried it on successfully until his death in 1899, A trade steadily growing through ‘■he years has compelled the firm to remove its factory to 341 King street, the shop in George street being retained for retail purposes, and in the new premises there , is ample room for the manufacture of the goods in which the firm excels, such as wire-work for mining purposes, bird and animal cages, poultry snow equipment, fire guards, lift etc. The firm's orders for their many manufactures are not confined to Dunedin. All through Otago their patrons are numbered, which means that, in order to supply the demand, the factory is a busy, place.
