We may be somewhat sceptical'about tire claim of industry when it states that towns live in history and memorybecause of a local industry, nevertheless, the , fact remains, and names come to mind quickly. Wliat about Damascus,- with its true steel blades ■ told of in many, a romance; and in later days Sheffield is world-renowned because of its steek Manchester claims pride of place for its cotton goods, and the Clyde for its shipbuilding. Pride of craft and pride of place go hand in hand, and are passed on from generation" to generation by the workers. Dunedin has made a beginning.
