NEED OF THE MANUFACTURERS.
SUPPORT FROM THE PUBLIC. VITAL TO NATIONAL ECONOMY. Hy E. Marsdex, D.Sc., E.N.Z., Inst (Secretary of Department of Scientific and Industrial Research). New Zealand manufacturers, generally, are realising that advances can be made by the exercise of enterprise, boldness, and intelligence, and by the utilisation of all available scientific and technical services. They need the help of the public, who should appreciate the fact that New Zealand manufacturing concerns that can find steady markets for their products are vital assets in the national economy and effective safeguards against unemployment. The larger, the volume of output the greater .the efficiency, and the lower, in general, the cost of production and the selling price. By purchasing more New Zealand-made goods they will help to minimise unemployment and assist in reducing prices.
