INVERCARGILL WINTER SHOW.

INCREASE IN ENTRIES*; ' ’ i*i. ■ (Special to Bail* Times.) 1 INVERCARGILL, May 6. The entries for the 1930 Winter Show, to be held in Invercargill next week, aro slightly above those of last year, the respective totals being ,689 and 669. The largest increase is shown in the cheese section, this year’s entries being nearjy- double those of the last show. Hams and bacons have almost doubled last year’s entries, though the number is still disappointingly small for such an important competition. Dressed poultry have dropped to zero, only three entries having been received, against eleven last year. There is also a regrettable decrease in ,tbe potato ,entries. Last year’s total of 56 has fallen’ to 20.' In the fruit section there are no entries this year, whereas there were 20 at the last show. The grain entries are on a par with last year’s,, {mt seeds have receded. In the fat cattle section there is a decided improvement, and the fat sheep, entries heve shown a slight increase.
