VICE-REGAL TOUR.

AUCKLAND’S WELCOME. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, April 1. Auckland’s -welcome to the GovernorGeneral (Lord Bledisloe) and Lady Bledisloe was a warm one this morning when their Excellencies entered the city for the first time. Punctually to time the Limited express arrived from Wellington and a minute later Lord Bledisloe stepped from the viee-regal ear, followed i by Lady Bledisloe. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr J. B. Donald) was the first to greet Lord Bledisloe, and then the Governor-General was introduced to the Mayor (Mr G. BaildonV who extended the city's greetings. The Grammar School Cadets provided the guard of honour. The vice-regal party drove to Government House through the streets, which , were lined with people. This afternoon the Governor-General visited the Symonds Street Cemetery and laid a wreath, on the grave of Captain Hobson, R.N.. the first Governor of New Zealand. Later he visited the War Memorial Museum and was taken for a motor drive. A public reception was held in the Town Ita.ll to-night, ! The Town Hall was crowded. An address of welcome was read by the Mayor, and the Minister of Health (Mr A. J. Stallworthy) extended a welcome on behalf of the Government, his Excellency replying. . • Visits will be made to the hospitals, etc., to-morrow, and their Excellencies will leave for Wellington to-morrow night.
